Sunroof

I have a 2005 ffrr and have noticed that on some occasions the sunroof seems to magically open it's self not fully though it just goes down at the back of the glass as if it's going to slide back but then stops! Anybody got any ideas about this? I know u can open the windows and sunroof from the key but usually the windows open first so don't think it can be that. Thanks ben

Might need recalibration of the motors. A friend had similar problem on his D3. Found the answer on the similar D3 site. It may be in the manual though. It was only a couple of button pushes/holds in the end.

my dad had a 2004/5 BMW 528i SE and it had the same problem!

so assuming the RR has the same electrics its no surprise!

i've sadly no suggestions but Dan will probably say its damp related and run the aircon all the time Laughing

and he may well be correct

The D3 recallibration was :

Turn on ignition position II
Hold in sunroof forward button for 20 seconds
Sunroof will then cycle through a full open and close (not sure if you need to keep button in or not whilst it does this bit)

Hope it works Smile

No actually, because I'm not trying to be a smart arse (this time) I would suggest reading this post, where I detailed the "Sunroof Calibration Procedure" because actually, I do come onto this forum to try and help people. You may not have noticed, but damp IS one of the leading causes of electrical gremlins in RR's. I don't see you bitching when people suggest that electrical issues could be battery related which is the #1 cause of issues!

Dan

i'm sure that i among many others appreciate the assistance you give Smile

and i was in this instance quite genuine in suggesting that damp may be the issue!

and i've certainly taken on board your suggestion of running the air con full time

i'd never dream of 'bitching' at such a nice chap as your good self!
