First thing to check...., have the 4 short hoses been replaced ?
If not check for splits.

Actually, still worth checking if any of the top hoses have split.... .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Could also be one of the large hoses from the intercooler to the intercooler has a split?
Could also be the MAPT sensor connection or sensor itself. There are two, one on the top front of each inlet manifold. Try swapping the sensors over and see if the fault code changes sides. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8

Sorry I meant from intercooler to inlet manifold.
Bank A is the left hand bank as you look at the engine with the bonnet open.
My RR had this code for ages, drove me mad.
Under what conditions does it happen? Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8

It happens when foot down hard or going up hill.

Same as mine. Most people found a split inlet manifold as the cause of this problem but not me. Basically the MAPT sensor (manifold air pressure and temp) detects the amount of pressure being delivered by the turbo. If there is an unexpected difference over a short period of time between what the sensor sees and what it thinks should be there it throws the fault.
If you feather the throttle slightly every few seconds going up hills and never give the system a steady state for long enough you can stop it throwing the fault.
I found a problem with the quailty of the connection between the plug and sensor on the left side. I also replaced the mapt sensor that side. In my case swapping the sensors did not change the side of the fault.
I also used Miller diesel injector cleaner a few times to help clean out any muck stopping the turbo vanes moving. Some people also have problems with a sticking turbo vane linkage which could cause the same symptoms. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8

Thanks Nick, is this maft sensor bolted into the manifold ? I'm a bit lost, not sure what to look for.

Take the plastic engine cover off. Look at where the two large intercooler hoses are connected to each side of the manifold. On the top of each side of the manifold just behind the hoseclip there is a sensor held in by a single screw. It has a grey plug. Remove the plug, undo the screw and pull the sensor vertically up and out. It has an o ring seal and should be easy to remove. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8
