Rear Washer. Not the usual problem...

Had my rear washer jet apart today. I'd assumed it wasn't working because the jet was blocked, like the last 4 i've owned!

It turned out to be clear and the problem seems to be somewhere else. I pressed it to wash about 20 times with the tube off (at the back). You can hear the motor fire up at the front and a bit of water even came out after one of the presses. But nothing since.

Anyone experienced this/ anything other than a blocked jet?

My next step would probably be to try and dismantle the bottle and see if theres a block at that end. Looks like a pain in the ass though as I'd need to take the wheel and inner wing off to get to it.....

I believe there's an in line non return valve, although I'm not sure where it's located.

Mine ain't right. I'll be pressing it for ages and nothing will happen then all of sudden screen wash will appear. Kinda like a delayed reaction. FFRR TD6 HSE

Hi Guys
I went through this a few weeks back. Search my old posts about a weekends work and there are amfewnpics showing the NRV. Mine was blocked and think it's not working as it takes about 3-4 cycles to get water to it so must be draining back to the bottle.

My local service agent Guava fixed mine in ten minutes while I had a cup of coffee, free of charge. Blocked non return valve apparently, frequent issue so they say. 2018 Range Rover Autobiography

Hmmmmmmmm, i've definately got some ideas from that. My non return valve IS blocked but I took it off and tried it without. I wonder if it can drain back so quickly that nothing would come out without a valve attached?

I'll get a new one/ try cleaning the old one and take it from there.

I would just replace the NRV. i took mine apart and not worth the hassle for a £3 part. when mine was off made sure i had loads of water coming through. What was there was pretty crappy until flushed!

Think it must be something other than the NRV. Can't get it to fire water out even with it off.

Does anyone think some near boiling water in the screenwash tub would be a dumb idea?

When I dropped the NRV in boiling water it seemed to dislodge some crap, I was wondering if putting it in the screenwash bottle would have the same effect? My Previous RR's!

I had to do my pump due to this problem. When you get the wheel off, you dont need to remove the entire wheel arch liner, just undo enough to peel the corner back and its flexible enough to fold out of the way. Theres three pumps come in to view - make sure you get the right one.
Have fun now....
