Computer or NO

Having just had a waste lorry smash into the side of my 2006 RR I was confronted with finding evidence , this was supplied from the local house holders security cameras on there houses.
Having had the repairs carried out which were fault less I discovered that they have reinstated the on board computer that has never worked since the car was new Question is what do i benefit from keeping it on or do I disengage it
