Headlamp lens replacement

I need to fit a new lens to the offside headlamp (2012 Westminster) and I understand I need to heat up the headlamp, to soften the glue to remove the old lens. Given the cost of a replacement leadlamp unit, it seems the smart thing to try to replace the lens. Any do's and dont's before I splash out?

Are you replacing them because they're cloudy or for another reason? If it's exterior cloudiness it may be possible to polish your current ones rather than replace.

Unfortunately not, the lens is scratched. Too deep to polish out.

Tony, you will struggle to remove them by heating them up as the glue is not the same as the early lamps and does NOT soften when heated! Ask me how i know Rolling Eyes

Just wouldn't want you ruining your headlamp case overheating it! Thumbs Up

So I take it you grind the old one off, after several beers so your hand is steady...?? Pete
