Noisy Brembos...

According to the maintenance record the front discs and pads were changed less than 20,000 miles ago, no make was stipulated..

They are fine in normal use, no vibration and are nice and progressive, however, brake from high speed a few times and they are extremely noisy when hot, no warping is evident, they still stop OK but the noise is horrible...

Are all Brembos noisy? or does this have cheap pads fitted, with originals around £280 it's easy to see why someone would use cheapies...

If this is the consensus does anyone have a recommendation for a good pad, I don't mind fitting the originals but if there is something out there that's better....

Not had to look at performance braking for many a year, are EBC still up there... be nice to have less dust as well..?

And before someone says it I know I could slow down.... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Thanks Guys... Pete

I would say a fair few of us have EBC Green - better than most at a decent price too Smile

I've heard good things about EBC Green and my mechanic mate who works on mine for me (only few I trust!) has them on his Sport. I will be fitting them next time round. He fitted Mintex coated discs on rear and Pagid pads (FYI).
I think he will fit Mintex coated on front too when I'm up for new ones along with the EBC Green pads

Re: Noisy Brembos...

I recently swapped my worn discs which had started squealing when hot/low speed which had had new pads a year before - not sure of make. as I didn't do them. I then replaced for bremo discs/pads at front myself, all in was £150 ish for parts and new sensor. No noise at all now and much less fade.

Less than £40 a front set on euro for brembo - throw them on and see if it improves. Cheap fix.

Mine had a large rust lip on the discs even though plenty of wear in them, the carrier sits very close to the disc so might have been the cause as thing expanded when it got hot.

The pads i took off had done about 10K and were well worn in just over a year.

Brembo don't make brake pads.

Brembo pads are made under licence (Manufacturer pays Brmebo to use their name)

EBC no longer produce Redstuff pads for the 6 pots, and advise the use of Yellowstuff. They used to be very dusty in the past, but now claimed to be a low dust pad Question

I like to support Birtish made where I can - so will carry on buying EBC Green Smile

Brembo mainly sub contract all the manufacture of their branded Brake Pads - so poinltess paying for the Brand Stamp IMHO

Yep.... I wrote that

Bought some JLR pads and they were stamped Jurid..... swapped the discs and pads a year later and went for Jurid. That’s not to say they are cheap, and they seem hard to find at the mo. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Cheers..

And yes they do seem elusive... I see they now do a low dust pad for an extra £160... Shocked Shocked Pete
