Gliptone Liquid Leather: Cleaning & Conditioning

I promised Olders I would do a quick write up on this.

I've used leather conditioners before, namely Autoglym and Meguiars and they were ok, I found the AG stuff very chalky on dark leather so when I saw on the forum about Gliptone I immediately got some to try.

My drivers seat had some scuff marks that annoyed me where some fat lazy arse couldn't be bother to get out without rubbing the leather off, so I also got one of their scuff repair kits.

Step 1: Cleaning the leather:
This couldn't be easier, wipe over the leather with a damp cloth, apply cleaner neat on another dry cloth, let it dry for 5 mins, wipe over with damp cloth again and leave to dry. Simple.

It leaves the leather looking nice and matt, as it should be, not all shiny.

Step 2: (optional) Scuff repair.
You specify on their website which colour you need, you get the dye and some toners to lighten or darken it but only if really required. I didn't bother (lazy) and just applied as is with the sponge supplied. SO easy to do, you can apply a few coats to build it up.

Then leave for 24hrs before applying the conditioner.

Step 3: Condition the leather
Just apply with a cloth, easy as that.

I'm really impressed with the finish of the leather, the repair mark is much less visible now and the smell of the interior is amazing, like when you walk into a shop that sells leather goods, a pure and lovely leather aroma.

I did all the leather, dash top, door handles, steering wheel etc. There's plenty in the bottles to do a few cars and for £25, good value.

here are some pics

Here's the entire car done now, not sure that photographs convey how good the leather looks, but my car is now at 59,000 miles, so you can judge from that. Also, the flash always fires when I take photos of the Jet interior which makes it looks shiny where it bounces, its NOT shiny at all.

I bought some from their website and have had good results on the Ivory seat back and squab and on the door pulls but it didn't remove the polish left on the seat back by my new brown leather belt........... looks like I need something a bit stronger.
I also bought some of their air fresheners, they are pretty strong and at the weekend I had comments that it smelled like something had died in the boot and was rotting Big Cry 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
