Cluster Pixel Repair and White LED Upgrade with pics

Hi all

A few weeks a ago i had my instrument cluster repaired to solve the common pixel that we all face, and while i was was having the pixel problem fixed i decided that i wanted to get the white LED upgrade done to replace the standard green LEDs in the cluster. I did some research into a number of different sites that were offering the upgrade and i decided to go with Rudi at www.bmwpixelfix.co.uk - Rudi offers a postal service but i decided that i would kill 2 birds with 1 stone, me and 2 friends wanted to go on a road trip so we packed up the range rover and went on a road trip down to the south of england and on the way back called in to see Rudi and got the cluster repaired and the LED upgrade done. It took around 2 hours for Rudi to do the work and i must say he has done a great job and can recommend him to anyone wanting to get this problem fixed!

These are the pictures of the before and after the repair and LED upgrade.

The camera makes the LEDs look brighter than they actually are, they look really good in the flesh!

I plan on getting mine fixed there as he is not far from me. I considered the white LED upgrade and after looking at your pictures I rekon It looks great, and its not much more on the pricing. Reformed

If you want the red area on the 6-7000 rpm range on the rev counter like mine just let Rudi no as this is not a standard option, i took some red colour filter sheets (from the stage lights at work lol) and got him to stick a small piece on the rev counter, i left the remaining red filter sheets with him so he should have some left.

Looks great Matt
I had mine fixed 2 months ago and some are already gone again. The work was not done by Rudi and when I decide to get em fixed next time I'll def take the car to him and get the LED work done as well. FFRR TD6 HSE

That looks great, seems to work well with the green illumination in the rest of the car too

Really 'facelifts' the instrument pack although does look rather bright 2008/58 FFRR 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

The colour's stunning - how bright are they in use? Is the dash distracting? Researching my first Range Rover purchase

Hi Tony, they are quite bright compared to the old green LEDs but on normal evening driving they are fine, i have only had to turn the dimmer down once and that was on a motorway that was not lit at all!! even the sat nav screen was too bright but other than that i love the new look!

I have finally got my car booked in with Rudi on Wednesday to get this done. My pixels have all but vanished now, so I am not putting it off any more! (& he is only up the road from me).

I have decided on the same as Matt, get the pixels fixed and the white led upgrade.

Then its just my passenger side mirror to fix (it does not fold any more), and my squeek from the rear. The garage says the bushes are not worn, just squeeky on one side, so I am going to try holts rubber & nylon lubricant on that.

Oh, and a spare key from the stealers! Then I am sure something else will play up or go wrong ready for me! Laughing Reformed

Has anyone out there done the dashboard white LED upgrade themselves and sourced the LEDs ? As I am building myself upto removing interior trim to get sprayed gloss black and thought it would be a good oportunity to upgrade the dash lights to white. Also does anyone know if the grean lights on the center console can be upgraded also to white ?

Thanks.............Adam
