Sorry, missed your earlier post, have you checked wheel bearings and front suspension bushes for wear, any movement in them can effect braking. Are the wheels round..? any wheel wobble at speed..??

Did this start straight after the work on the brakes..?

All things you can check yourself for free, if none of them then yeah I guess you will have to get it looked at..

Good luck... Pete

Wheel bearings are good I thought I would check that while the car was up no play in those on both sides. As for the suspension bushes everything looked ok but I didn’t actually push or pull everything so can’t say for sure on that. Nope no wheel wobble perfect when driving and slowly applying the brake just that little bit harder. So replaced the back brake lines in feb as weeping For mot then about end of may/June started to notice it now really notice it.
Just got to find a decent place to go Essex area

I still think it's the callipers, either pistons or pads jamming and then releasing... Thumbs Up Pete

Well I’ve finally sorted out my strange problem…. The passenger lower suspension arm bushes had broken and twisted the other arm. What’s the odds on that but all new suspension on tested and all working excellent so bloody happy. But when looking at arms looked normal no play until taken off then loose as anything. Lesson learned today.

Having the same problem on my 2011 TDV8. Do you have the part numbers to hand for the likely items needing replacement? Many thanks

You might have a failing flexible brake hose, probably on the front.

If they start to collapse internally, it can take a hard push of the pedal to get fluid past the problem. That would lead to your grabbing symptoms. It usually also leads to calipers sticking on a little, as the fluid has the same problem going back when you release the pedal.

I know following Pete's advice, that you've done this, but I'd double-check that all of the caliper pistons are free and push out / press back with relative ease.

Failing any of the above, do you have the same / similar compound brake pads all around? My race car used to be highly sensitive to using different compound front / rear pads, but I could dial in the best set up with the brake bias valve.

EDIT --->> Just noticed that you'd found the problem... Doh! Good news. Note to self --> Read all posts before replying. 1992 RR Classic 3.9 efi Vogue
