Anyone had farmers towbar retrofitted?

Hi, as above.

anyone able to tell me cost of fitting new towbar (manual, not electric self-stowing) to L405?

THanks

Had one fitted by main dealer about 3 years ago.
Price approx £1100.00 then.
Believe you can get the mobile tow bar fitting boys to supply & fit one for approx £700.00.
Few years ago now so prices could have moved a bit either way.
Needed the pin as well as the ball so it was the only option.

Thanks for the reply. When you had yours done did you have tow assist and stability already on board or was it a app/software download?

Did you have to cut the rear bumper or are the kits designed to simply bolt on?

Anyone had a self stowing electric towbar fitted?

A few threads on the deployable tow bar.

IIRC 1k for the detachable & 3k for the deployable from a dealer.

There's a mid panel in the bumper - they can be had for £20-30 on eBay, so whichever tow bar you fit can be trimmed to fit quite neatly - and even if you get it wrong, won't break the bank to try again Smile

thanks Alistair. It looks like deployable is going to break the bank so looking at removable.

Mine was £990 in March 2018. It is a dealer fit accessory so there should be a current LR accessory price list figure. There are enough stories of the deployable ones seizing that I would prefer the farmer's hitch one even without the price difference, though the farmer's hitch ones do still need to be kept very clean to go on and off quickly and easily, and there are additional security issues in that the bar could be removed easily if the pin can be withdrawn. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I am going to be putting my deployable up for sale shortly.
Everything apart from bolts and the reinforcement frame, which are about £200 I believe.

Including Module / wiring / switch pack / bumper trims etc.

Drop me a PM if you're interested.
