Got round to fitting the belt tensioner after must be year of start up screeching. It got louder and longer although muffled in the cabin saying goodbye with the window down I realised how bad it was.
Had I known how easy it was would have done it sooner. Followed the Wiki guide for radiator removal as far as needed. Took less than an hour including 10 minutes to undo the viscous fan nut and 10 minutes looking for the source of yet another oil leak.
The old one felt fine, suspect it could have gone on for years, silent now though!

Just back from a weeks holiday to St Andrews/Dundee/Crail on the east coast of Scotland.....another 500+ trouble free miles. Gave the FF a good wash/wax today and treated the leather. Such a comfortable vehicle to drive....unbeatable! Thumbs Up

Changed the gearbox pan / filter and mechatronic sleeve and replaced the transfer box oil. Have had the bits in the garage for ages and was putting off as I could foresee lots of potential issues with the gearbox pan that could leave me stranded (like shearing one of the bolts).

As it was it came off okay. The mechatronic sleeve was really awkward to get in and out while under the car at extended height. I suspect it would be okay on a lift. Same for removing the connector - access is limited.

It a long and tedious job - especially on a gravel drive but we got there in the end (I have the scars to prove it). 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Fix the height control on the passenger head rest....was stuck up as high as it can go but thanks to this sites info it was the plug unattached and also thanks to my young daughter for her tiny hands that managed to reach said plug!
