Ordered yet another non-essential..

Today I ordered a Venturecam mount. Do I need one? No. But it looks intriguing and well, you never know….

Fitted the Fat Lady with her new shoes, on D3 wheels.

Time to order 20 new wheelnuts me thinks.

First have to look for a set of roofrails for the tent.

My wife took ours to her parents over the weekend.

Just after she set off it threw a fault on the dash.

I told her to turn it off and back on and the fault was gone.

I told her "it's a Land Rover remember!" Laughing

New coolant bottle (resolving the "low coolant" warning).

New airbox screws, as one was missing, one had a badly stripped head, and all were rusty with mangled heads.

New lighter socket plug, as it was missing, and that annoyed me.

Yesterday I finished the job started the day before to replace the leaking radiator and all the hoses and plastic in the V including the hoses to the EGR cooler. I also fitted the sender unit for an oil pressure gauge. Lots of the plastic fittings/pipes broke when trying to disassemble, including the known fragile bleed fitting on top of the water outlet. However I retained my brass fittings and standard hose for the bleed line from the donut to the top radiator hose to avoid breaking the connection to the top hose again in a couple of years' time.

Fixed the annoyingly loose rear bumper protector trim that'd got the end lifting. Removed it, the end moulded plastic tab was missing, probably broke off years ago if it was ever there, cut one of the middle tabs in half and used a combination of hidden drill holes and Gorilla 2 pack resin glue to secure it in place. Left overnight on the radiator.

Fitted it this morning, job done, not loose at all, doesn't rattle, no lifting or flapping, let's see how long it holds.

Fixed the Seat Heater with the new peltier from Aliexpress, £40 after getting the parts back from the guy who was supposed to fix it but that all fell through.

All seems to be working fine now, repaired the bellows rather than replaced, car did not catch fire yet due to Chinese sourced parts, time will tell on the durability but at the moment, nice heated seats again, Result.

……….. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
