Er... don't have a heated steering wheel, don't need one (not as soft as the rest of the southerners!), so I can use the connector for the heated wheel to make use of the slip ring for connectivity. I'll assume I can get a male connector from somewhere.

Where do I pick up the the wires coming out the back of the female connector on the steering column to rediect to the gearbox selector wires.

I have HSE so will this have the heated wheel connector? .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

hi mate

its nearly 3 years since i started this project but from what i can remember i dont think the HSE has the connector on the slip ring for the heated steering wheel option.

wiring question. -nearly there!

hi all, been reading this thread a few times. i have the vogue model and bought a pair of 'powerfuluk' paddles. resoldered the boards as the youtube vids says. tested ok. about to fit them etc. -waiting for a cooler day, boiling at present, then i can play the powerfuluk 'piano music' as i fit them!
I'm going to trade my heated wheel, as its redundent anyway since piano wood rim wheel fitted now. (not heated) my question to other successful 'modders' is,
i guess i have to tap into an ign. controlled live somewhere, (red wire) and earth through the wheel body to light the led's, (when ign on) (black wire) and then go through the coupler heated wheel terminals to the column, and 'come out ' there, isolate the old incoming heater wires etc. and push through paddle grey/blue wires back to the centre console. and towards the purple connector etc. where did you tap into your ign. 12v supply chaps? thanks in advance.

UPDATE. as above, i tapped into the RED wire, coming out of the slip ring on the wheel side, last one on right, this was ign live and key out 'dead'. so with that and an earth (on the wheel) powered the led's. the earth is the condition switched by paddles down to the console to change gear. can see at night but obviously cant see them lit in daytime. and used the heated wheel connections through slip ring. (red/brown and under slip ring there is a separate plug with the green and black (heater connection) and a brown if i remember. i cut and isolated them there. and ran a cable down to the centre console. yes, they work a treat.
-i added them for the times i will hook the caravan and need the complete control of gears to save booting the pedal to overtake. its so much easier to hold a gear a little longer to slowly overtake etc. with my v8 the electronic trhottle is not easy to judge pedal position, and right down isnt a lot different to half down. if you get my drift. so to recap, i resoldered the paddle boards as per youtube, used the heater wires, and ran cable to centre console. not a big job with a bit of insulated stiff wire etc. manual action with the stick is still working too.

Hi guys, new to the site, I have read all the posts regarding the fitment of the wheel mounted change paddles to a 2010+ Range Rover Sport, has anyone found anywhere that can update the CCF file or any way around it?

Want to install the mod, but don't know of anywhere that could do the update for me.

Thanks in advance
Jeff

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Java Black

Hi guys,

Spent the day doing my install using the Velleman 2-CHANNEL RF REMOTE CONTROL SET from Maplins.

I seem to be having a problem.

1) the shifting only happens when I hold the paddles down hard for about 1-2 seconds, if I flick the paddle it won't shift

2) if I tap a paddle in 'P' I get a transmission fault which disables Sport mode.

I have checked my receiver and they I have set them to 0.5s Pulse on both channels.

Any ideas? Confused

go for the hard wire option, I don't have the diagram after my hard drive went up the wall but I am sure someone has it on here,
if any one has the diagram please post it V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Hardwired is an option, however this option should work, I have tried to figure out the way it works and what could be causing this delay and why the paddles need to be held in for at least a second.

Doesn't anyone have any ideas?

In addition did anyone get a "transmission failure" error showing at any point?

Would appreciate any advise as I have been racking my head all afternoon.

Thanks.

What are you using to power the transmitter
the receiver should be open and close circuits, i think some how when you click up or down it may be closing both circuits for a split sec and giving you the error, do you have a circuit diagram you can post. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Bit of an old thread resurrection but I am struggling to find the this jumper cable.

I have a 2010 car so there is a spare socket on the steering wheel, right hand switch pack, which is four pins the same as the lead from the paddles, so far so good. They are both male 4 pin connectors, which is a bit odd, but that appears to be the way it is, but the cut outs in the two plugs, to ensure that you can only fit them one way around are a little different. This is the jumper wire that is suggested in this thread.

I can't believe any 4 pin connector will do, it seems a bit random, just ordering a 4 pin jumper.

Here is one, although a bit too long. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221118879979

Can anyone point me in the right direction. 2010 5.0 SC Autobiography

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but seems more relevant than starting my own.

Did anyone ever create a how-to for the hardwire method with heated wheel? Or at least with wiring diagrams?

Trying to do this mod but really don't want to use the wireless method if it can be done wired.

Thanks! Jordan
