England 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Zambezi Silver
Permanent live & switched live

Hi,

I'm about to install a tracker in my RR and I'm looking for some help. I need a permanent live & switched live to run it. I've taken a permanent feed from the back of the clock (red/white) and a switched feed from the plug that feeds the DSC/suspension height. I've checked via the multimeter and all checks out but still I'm unable to power the unit up. All earth's are good (off the the transmission tunnel bracket) The unit was working fine when removed from previous vehicle.

Any ideas.....?

cheers Gavin

sorry to jump in but this seems as good a place to put this as any.

i have reccently spent a small fortune on a new caravan, i won't bore you all with the details. it came fitted with a tracker as standard.

the beauty of it is it is self powered with no wires.

i thought this may be of interest to some of you, i was thinking about getting one for the FF as well.

I'd be very careful taking feeds from any buttons or from the clock as these don't run on standard 12v they all run with in a 12v data bus. So that may be why it's not powering up.

I would suggest that somewhere in the boot would be a better idea as there are lots of feeds in there. Or behind the glove box and take a feed from the fusebox somewhere?

all the blurb is on the web site if you use the link. basically it has its own built in power source and is stuck down with a mega adhesive pad. there is a magnetic trip switch which activates if someone finds it and tries to remove it.

have a read of the web site and see what you think. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Cheers Dan- I didn't realise that (still in Defender electric mode..) I'll do as you say and look in the boot. Does a wiring diagram exist at all for the 2006 model? Gavin
