I have a MINI with even smaller wheels (16 inch) and you couldn't believe how long they last. They don't fit my Range Rover though!

I have a theory that as the smaller wheels have more tyre side wall and therefore more give on corners, they wear less.

The 20" have less role on corners as there is less flexibility due to there being less give in the tyre wall, they therefore wear quicker - especially if you go round lots of corners. Hope that all makes sense!

It's the only explanation I can come up with as to why the exact same tyre in 20" lasts 10k miles less than a 19"
