AGM setting on CTEK

Hi all - I have a 2015MY AB 5.0 S/C and have just purchased a CTEK MXS 10 to keep the battery tip top... should I use the AGM setting on the charger? Not had a look at the batteries... the car has start/stop if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance!

Looking at the top of the battery will confirm if its AGM or not. I don't know - I suspect it is but having a look is a 2 min job but needs the compressor unbolting. it simply lifts out of the way. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

I agree that AGM is probably what is fitted. My 2011 car has AGM.

Used the CTEK for years without issue.

Hi Marcus
I have a 3.0 2014 l405.
I have the exact same charger and I just connect mine in the engine compartment. All work and chargers well. The extension flex cable I position near the headlights and find shutting the bonnet not an issue.
I use the AGM setting and the charger run it cycle until the green led. I have left mine connect for two days and no issues.
Thumbs Up

It'll be an AGM battery so yes, use the AGM setting on your CTEK and connect to posts in the engine bay. Kev

Hi Craig - assuming its an OEM spec battery. Could it be possible to use a non-AGM replacement?

I have no idea. Bow down 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Think it was 2011 when the switch was made to AGM ? my 2011 started with a normal battery and was switched out to AGM fairly quickly when early 2011's were all having battery issues. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB
