door mirror covers removal

Hi does anyone know how to remove the door mirror covers/caps, so i can get them painted.
My car 2006 and has puddle lights under the mirrors.

I found whacking them against a bus mirror is much quicker!'if you find out how to take the back off let me know as I need to get mine off.
