Gents, I'm looking at the Rigid Loadspace Protector (Part No: EBF000040) to protect the motor from those infrequent trips to the garden centre, etc.

Does anyone have any comments on this kit (or a cheaper alternative)? And does anyone know of a cheaper deal?

They look pretty good for the pooch. Just not sure they'd stand up to something like a couple of slabs in the boot (not that that happens every day).

Thanks for the feedback gents. Think I need to trade off the complete protection against the rigid floor and make a decision. More often than not the main contents are Tesco's bags so the non slip quality of the rigid liner (or a cheaper variant) might just swing it.

The more rigid Britpart ones are very good and as long as you state exact model and year you get a perfect fit. Mine was about £54 and delivered next day from fleabay.
Heres a few pics so you can see how it fits, if you dont want the lip by tailgate it is easily trimmed with a craft knife. I left mine in as this stops water etc spilling out.

Take that last bit back - if anyone can tell me how to add pics then I will....

click on gallery under the big fullfat.com logo
then on the black banner, click on upload photos
click on browse and select the picture on your pc/laptop
press continue four times and this will bring you into your album
select/click the picture you want and it'll increase in size
where it says bbcode full size, click on it so the whole line goes blue then copy and paste that into your post.

just out of interest, i had one of the matreial liners in my last car too and regularly had tonnes of soil, rubble brick, slabs etc etc in the boot and it was fantastic, when you have finished tou just take it out and throw it in the washing machine. they protect the seat backs too, even if you put the seats down.

just my opinion of course but would prefer one of these over a rigid liner as it protects the load area in its entirity, not just the floor space.

My boot has the rubber mat on the base and then the rigid boot liner (just cos I can!)

The rigid one is good in the shooting season and for fishing, you can throw all your wet muddy gear in.

The one downside is that its slippery, and you need a non slip mat. A rubberised one from Britpart might be better? Discovery 4 HSE

Another downside to the rigid protectors is when you have need to fold the rear seats down, as you're left with a ridge in the middle of the load area. Not sure you should be reading this bit.
