Fuel Tank Cover/Filter Replacement - 2012 L322

Have had the fuel tank cover (Part # LR043154) replaced, mainly to replace the integrated fuel filter, and since then the gauge has been reading 3/4 full when full. Does anyone have details on the replacement procedure or how I can recalibrate the digital gauge?

Update

NM, worked it out. Seems like when you disconnect the battery you need to ensure you have a full tank of fuel to ensure the gauge calibrates correctly. The issue I faced was that when the filter was replaced and the battery was disconnected, the ECU then reset so that when the tank was full, the gauge only read 3/4. Anyhow all solved now.

Additionally, if you swap out the fuel filter make sure you either have a new rubber seal, or you shrink the old seal by boiling it in water for 20 minutes to sweat out the fuel. Without doing that the seal will be oversized.

Cheers!

That's weird, changed mine on my 2012 S/C with a near empty tank and the gauge worked fine when reconnected, the seal was fine as well... maybe the seal is because it's colder here and it doesn't expand so much in use...

Just goes to show, every fatty is different...

Glad you got it sorted... Thumbs Up Pete
