2011 TDV8 Rear Heaters always on?

Hi folks

I'm banging my head against a brick wall with what looks like a rare problem?

My old mans 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE was in getting some oil leaks fixed and DPF issue with my own guys in the workshop. ( run a coach company but my wife and dads RR take up more mechanic time.............) and on test drives to make sure everything was ok we noticed the rear heater fans for the rear seats were constantly on and also on full maximum force?

If you twist the controls nothing makes any difference and they still are on for a good 5 mins after you have switched the car off and locked it?

Tried to see if we can disconnect it or change a resistor but tried online, you tube, etc with no luck?

Anyone experienced this or heard about it?

Actually selling the car soon so keen to get it fixed?

Thanks
Michael

You need a new resistor for the rear blower, underneath the centre box. I just got a second hand one off ebay. 2004 TD6 - Gone

Thanks Shaun

Thanks for that, so just remove the rear centre heater controls/arm rest and the resistor under there?

A picture of the offending article.

The Rear Blower Fuse lives in the boot (Fuse 14), you could always pull that until you get it fixed.

I got exactly the same symptoms when playng with my climate control board.
I remove it from the car, put on table and open. When it was open, I turn the temperature knob too much (the knob have fixed positions from min to max, but when the board is open, it is possible to turn it more in both directions) When I notice that I didnt remember wich direction I turn it and just install it back to car as it is. Immidietly got rear fan in max speed and no reaction at all on other buttons. Again on the table, open up and turn it 360. Back to car and all was fine.

Hi does anyone have any instructions on how to dismantle the cubby box and access the heater blower to change said resistor? I can find anything online.

Thanks

Horts
