immobiliser vs cabin preheat

I'm contemplating having an immobiliser fitted but just had. thought; the cabin is preheated off the app by starting the engine, if I have an immobiliser, will this prevent the cabin preheat from starting? First time FFRR owner

I can confirm with the Ghost 2, that I now cant use the cabin pre-heat with engine start etc from the IC app.
But at least the car is where I leave it Rolling with laughter

However if you use the G2 phone app (I dont), if your car is within range (BT) a few meters, G2 is disabled so suspect it would work. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Your profile says you have an AB, so you would use the remote to pre-heat the car (or set a time in the infotainment) which doesn’t start the engine, so I can’t see it being an issue with an immobiliser. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Hi Kot, I shall look into the Ghost (using the Ghost2 app)

Martin, I do have an AB but it doesnt have a separate remote for the pre heater, I use the Incontrol app for it and it does start the main engine.

I'll set the infotainment to preheat on a timer, so does that start a separate pre heat motor or start the main engine? First time FFRR owner

You can get a remote for the pre-heater, I would.

In the meantime, yes, setting the timer in the car will only switch on the FBH, not the engine. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

There's a great video on YT re Ghost2 - check out SASMobile. They've done a SVR where it locks out the gearbox rather than the engine so the remote start still works.

Originally there were issues using the transmission lock but think this may have been resolved.

I forgot about the timed climate function on the internal screens, that may be my solution especially if I can get it to operate off a remote. How can I tell if mine is compatible with a remote? Buy one and try it o can I find out of a spec sheet/look of built in kit? First time FFRR owner

Ask your dealer to check? I did and they ordered in two & programmed them for less than £50... Thumbs Up
