andrew i fear you may be right about the switch surrounds so maybe once ive got the rubber off ill just paint them like the rest Thumbs Up with regards to the polish trick i found the cheaper the polish the better it worked....dont get me wrong it still takes a bit off elbow grease and does take some time to start working but it does work

I found that metal polish works great on the rubber finish. I decided to start with the centre cupholder flap today as that was quite worn in places. Did it in half an hour. Will have a go at the steering wheel spokes next. Putting off the window switch panels cos I think they will be best taking off to clean up properly. No longer FF owner but still interested. Pretlove...have you thought of coating the OBC surround, heating knobs surround and centre console in piano black?

I've thought of it so it matches the rest of the trim, but not sure??? Current MY2020

only everytime i get in the car lol.....
the only thing thats putting me off is the fact id have to do the gear surround and that may be tricky as it has the black selecter sticker on it
i think it would look smart though seeing as my nav unit is black as well "RANGEISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED"

A bit of masking tape over the gear selector panel will suffice. I'm very tempted to do mine...as soon as you have shown me pictures of yours when it's done Wink Current MY2020

well i removed the worn rubber from my electric window switch surrounds and i got to say it wasnt easy.....
because i didnt want to paint them i had to use a mix of car polish and nail varnish remover (without acitone) and it toke ages but they look a dam sight better than they did and are now rubber free.
while i had the door card off i thought id check to see if its possible to remove just the handles as mine like many HSE / SE's have worn and gone out of shape.....well it appears they can be removed so im gonna look into getting them recovered in black leather so ill keep you posted Thumbs Up "RANGEISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED"

once you got the door card off there are two bolts and six melted plastic spots holding them on so iff you burn the plastic spots off youll be left with a hole that you can bolt into or maybe melt some more plastic back in place ........
on mine one of the plastic spots had allready broke off and all that was left was a plastic column with a hole to screw into so i tried a screw and bobs your uncle Thumbs Up "RANGEISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED"
