Ah, I don't have the heavy duty splitter. Could not get one in time, only home a few days then away on hols and need to fit in its MOT before I go. Might be a struggle then. SDV8

@evotime:

Yes, that’s exactly the same one I have! Thumbs Up

It will fit, no worries! “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Ok all 4 front arms replaced. Easy enough. Thud has gone as well. Tie rod bushed were pretty knackered. Been in there a long time I would say.

I bought 3 tools to get the ball joints out as a bit of an experiment as I always use a hammer and never had any issues.

I tried all 3 tools and ended up using the hammer. 3 smacks each and out they came.

Tongs did nothing

Tool in pic would not go wide enough

Heavy duty tool in post above required the wee splash guard removed but the 2 tiny bolt refused to move. Not a big job to get them out but was running out of time so took the hammer out. Job done in 2 mins.

Drives much better now especially when crossing the white line, all the wandering has gone. Might have to look at the rear next as it feels a bit loose now the front is so responsive SDV8
