This was caught on a dash cam, quite shocking really.

Hopefully she got jail time and lost her license.
Doubt it though.

Scarey, it was your dash cam thread what made me think about posting it.

I'm tempted by one for our vans, had a very lucky escape yesterday on the motorway in my brothers van, doing 80 or so in the outside lane on the A1 just about to overtake a car, some tit in a Honda Accord doing at least 100 undertook us and squeezed through the gap between our van and the car we were just about to pass, must have been a foot either side of his car, good job my brother was on the brakes otherwise he would have hit us and the other car. 2006 Mercedes CLS

for £28 or so its very tempting mark...obviously more usable for a vehicle constantly on the road like yours..

With all the idiots on the road I think it's well worth it.

This was enough to convince me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LK9-Ikcu0sY
Without the camera the lorry driver would have probably been for the high jump!

I remember a couple of years ago, when someone drunk suddenly decided to change direction and crashed on me, and I was treated as the guilty one! This camera would've been fine. I need to get one of these! 2003 Range Rover, Java Black/Sand Leather Interior (Gone, sadly)

If you were doing 80 or so, evidence collected by the camera could be counter productive if it's the sort that records speed with GPS!

I've got the one without GPS.
It just records what it sees.

That was my thinking too. Thumbs Up
I just want to see who caused the accident and their car+reg number.

Ahem, 70mph officer Laughing Must have pressed the wrong button!

After discussing it with my pops, he's agreed that it would be a good idea, we've just been to a small claims court after a garage who had been doing work on one of our vans, took it out for a test drive, hadn't closed the bonnet correctly and for it to have flown up when one of their mechanics were driving.

They claimed that they hadn't touched the van at all despite the mechanic saying that he was checking the repairs were ok. My brother as a stroke of luck was on the way to the garage to get some bits from his van when he saw the bonnet fly up right in front of him. The case was dismissed due to lack of evidence from either party.

One of those dash cameras would have been very handy. 2006 Mercedes CLS

Scarey suggested something cheaper, but I have these:
http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/blackvue-dr300.html

You can buy them from other companies online for £40 more for the same thing!
I bought two. Front and back and have directly wired them so no leads trailing across the car. Thumbs Up
