[wanted] - Galway Green L322

Good evening all; Harry here.

I’m in the market for a Galway green L322.

I will spend time reading through the threads on your opinions on engine types…but will have to be 2009-2012 (digital dash but no later bodykit)

Initially was only going to do down the 5.0 V8 route as I live in Surrey and sometimes drive into ULEZ zones. The more I think about it; the car will mostly be used to trips up north, so now more conscious of range and efficiency, which the 3.6/ 4.4 will be superior with.

If any members have a Galway green example that they would consider selling please let me know.

Needs:

-Galway
-Tan/ sand hide
-wood veneer
-clear glass
-full history
-reverse cam

Wants:

-SE/ AutoB
-rear electric seats
-Suede/ Leather headlining
-Apple car play upgrade

Regards

Current:

Panamera Turbo
Cayenne GTS (going when L322 comes)
TVR Griffith

England 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

There is a specific wanted section in the Market Place area, you may get a better response by advertising there...

You are being very specific, could be years before you find one with that spec, Galway is far from a common colour...

The leather headlining is only standard on the AB, it's either real leather or alcantara (which is plastic, fake suede) Weird...!!

Clear glass is pretty rare as well...

Hope you find something..... Thumbs Up Pete

Thanks Haylands

I know it's a big ask! If you don't ask you don't get!

Thanks again!

There was one on Autotrader listed privately with Arabica hide and I think c 70k miles.

Spoke to the seller and he confirmed he kept on top of maintenance requirements and mainly used the car for long trips down to SOF; which might explain why there was a mileage discrepancy on the MOT history as the tester didn’t check it was in KM one year which threw it all out.

Despite it being an issue someone else clearly didn’t mind!

I presume you’ve seen this one?

I was looking for similar myself but ended up finding a black 5.0 Supercharged (with no tints)

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Galway Green

There are Galway Green L322s out there and to your spec. I got my 4.4 Vogue about 2.5 years ago after some looking and waiting. It is THE best colour and trim combo, looks great in the town or country and if it was good enough for our late Queen then it is good enough for us.
My advice would be to wait for a 4.4 for the better mpg, the 8 speed box and loads of torque.
You say you occasionally go into the ULEZ, I can assure you the 2010-11 4.4 is not exempt and I have an expensive souvenir photo from TFL to prove it!
Wasn't trying to dodge the charge, just got confused on the TFL website thinking that after setting up a ULEZ account and giving the reg number, my name and address and all my bank and card details I was good to go.
Be warned, you have to also activate (via another box on the page) a separate account to automatically take the charge from your card as you cross into the zone (which I understand now starts south of Carlisle).
Thinking about it, would a Kahn conversion be exempt?
Just sayin'
Ron Thumbs Up

Thanks for your message Ron and jealous of your fattie!

Yes ULEZ is a bit of a pain but we all knew it was coming (maybe not so much the zones) - but anyway...

Yes I've toyed about with the idea of the 4.4 and does make sense for me (I have other cars I can go in the zone with and its not the be all and end all) and much better for long journeys too. But...I am a petrol head and plan to keep this car for a very, very long time and the idea of a 5.0 supercharged does get me excited. But would I be annoyed about the distance from a full tank and seriously low MPG. I know you don't buy a 5.0 worrying about that but I will do long journeys and the constant fill ups might get depressing overtime.

There is a Galway 4.4 SE online privately (autotrader) but with black hide, rear electric seats (nice) and 136k miles for £13,500. Spoke to the seller and its had a fair amount of £ spent on it but I'd rather wait out for a lighter interior and clear glass! He paid £9.5k but claims to have spent £6k on recent works which sounded genuine after talking to him for 30 mins. It might of made commercial sense at £10k but he wasn't prepared to go to that.

Jooj did mention the other car below which is perfect colour combo but I'd rather wait out for an AutoB or high spec vogue. Sometimes, you just can't have it all I suppose but happy to wait rather than getting a stop gap and loosing £

Is the range on longer journeys really an issue with the 5.0? Extra urban is quoted as 35 vs 27 The reality with a nigh on 25 gallon tank (say 20 gallon useable) is c470 vs c700. The average tank on my beemer is about 450 miles and I wouldn't say I feel like I'm always filling up. The Impreza at 20mpg on the other hand...

I'm with you on interior colour; I hate black leather! However, I've realised that black is probably the most convenient for an outdoorsy person, especially with the higher end semi aniline stuff. I always find the Autobiog's and the VSE's look pretty tatty at higher mileages when they've got the ivory leather compared to WM or plain Vogue.

Good point

Has anyone got stats on full fuel range distance for 5.0 vs 4.4?

Yes agreed re interior practicality. It’s just the desire for perfect spec and wanting to keep it perfect for that reason.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 V8 Java Black

I picked up a 2011 5ltr V8 Autobiography on Saturday.

Whilst I do prefer light interiors (we have a new X5 with ivory leather), we plan to keep this RR forever using it for tip runs, dog carrier, messy kids etc so happy with its black leather which still looks fresh IMO.

First full tank of V-Power after collecting (£165) showed a range of 375 miles!

England 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Sumatra Black

I only get about 130 more miles using the 4.4 TDV8 engine with 90% motorway driving.

Max tank capacity 97 litres @ £1.459 ( Bristol Sainsburys) = £141.52

495 miles range after full top up according to the computer.

I have seen over the magic 500 with my trusty 2010 Vogue SE. My mate with his 4.4 Westminster sees 575. The 8th gear and sequential turbo setup makes a big difference.

I can get 700+ miles from mine on sub 70mph M-way long trips. Saying that as my annual mileage is dropping to likley less than 10k I'm seriously considering a 5.0SC as the ULEZ saving will offset the extra fuel used. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

We have a 2010 5.0 in Galway over Ivory just come back into stock from a regular customer.

Sold him the car back in 2021 and came back in p/x as he's now in a G63. Timing chains renewed and gearbox fully rebuilt in last 12 months.

Now on 137k but all common faults addressed.
