Losing the satnav was a gripe of mine however not sure if you’ve noticed Dixy but Apple CarPlay navigation apps (Vastly superior to JLR system) can now be displayed continually in the driver display. This became a feature during the second most recent software update

Your missus can now fidget more free from recrimination!

Just noticed on the steering wheel it’s got the new driver safety assist button (not sure what it’s called) had a defender loaner with it and it’s really annoying! Beeps whenever the speed limit changes you use the button to flick to custom where you set it not to beep but it resets back on the next startup. MY23 PHEV HSE

It is a sublime distance eater.
If they are going to put everything on one screen they have to be able to sectionalise it so that you can go in to one part whilst keeping the other visible, my wife decided to change the vent flow just as we came to an interchange and the sat nav disappeared.
It also has to be lightning fast and personally configurable.
My wife always leaves the radio on, I like to be able to get in and just press the off button, if I have to start the car, wait whilst it wakes up and then scroll through 4 pages just to turn off some mindless bimbo Twisted Evil
So many unforeseen consequences that just make people think they have lost their way and turn to the competition.

Same for me, my wife leaves also the Radio on and I directly switch it off. I hate this in the morning.
We still can use the steering wheel roll-button, for the radio and maybe one shortcut then… RR Classic 1998-2005

All of this is fine if you are fifteen and three quarters and have yet to get to first base.
Either they have a 3 day course in how to set the bloody thing up or they have an in dealer IT geek who can talk you through it 24/7.
As distraction is the biggest cause of collisions this is a terrible retrograde step. letters not necessarily in the right order

I can’t really see what all the fuss is about here. Most of the functionality that was on the buttons is now in the side bars, on the screen with one touch. It’s higher up on the dash and easier to see. Will be even better when the bigger screen arrives.

If it’s on the screen it’s really difficult to use without taking your eye off the road. You can grab a dial to control temperature, seat heating or air flow without taking your eyes off the round. For me (a total geek) hardware controls in a car work way better. MY23 PHEV HSE

That is not good news!

We'll have the handover for our new P550e AB on Monday, and then I'll ask specifically about that. Having a vehicle that beeps for everything (like many of the new EV cars do) is very annoying.

Maybe possible to turn this off permanently using a GAP IID tool or similar?

I was thinking the same, you can tell if you have it if you have the extra button on the right hand steering wheel control. There is a thread on the defender site similar, hopefully it can be deactivated in the CCF. MY23 PHEV HSE

I was hugely against this change. But it has made me think about how much I use these buttons in my current car with the pivo pro system (Defender).

It is typically when I start the car - so defrost etc, heater controls and seats - and then very little after that point.

The buttons in the Defender are nice - chunky and have a firm action to them. This is not the case with the L460 buttons, as someone else has mentioned, they are a little cheap feeling, and the adjacent buttons flex when you press them.

So, I'm feeling more relaxed about it now. Just want to get the damn car! 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

The Alklam guys have got a MY24 p460e already. The video shows how the new climate controls operate . I think it works well with having the temp, fan, seat heating/cooling all together with one press of the sidebar.

I agree, it looks like it makes sense and really is just a tap or two to get what we use frequently.

I love that all climate seat controls are displayed on one screen. Tap the climate button, tap the seat temp you want from high to low and cold to hot. The spinning dial was great but finicky at times, at least on the L405.

Great, it turns out we can live with the cost saving solution, without any problems Laughing
I got the feedback, my P550e is expected to arrive in April, so I enjoy the expensive layout in my L405 another 6 Month… Thumbs Up RR Classic 1998-2005

I’ve watched the video and it hasn’t changed my mind plus the graphics for the climate look cheap and it’s a bit ‘laggy’. The centre console looks very bare now too, I’m sure it would have been designed differently if everything was on the screen from the start. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
