Rear seat folding/flatten issues L405

Hi all.

It’s been a while since I posted (L322 issues). Had a couple now of the L405. Nice cars. One issue I have just come across which has baffled me.

L322 to lower rear seats for large items would be simple lift seats at the back then fold down.

I went to selco to buy a kitchen. Thought nothing of it. Got some units which were large enough to need me to fold down the seats on the L405. Simple I thought. Press the buttons and they will fold down.

Nope…. Pressed repressed moves front seats forwards backwards removed head rests etc nothing. I was so ashamed I had to get my partner to turn up in her ford kuga (manual release seats down and off she goes)

My question is how the fudge cakes do you lower the rear seats?

They tilt on the side buttons but nothing when I go in the boot and press the seat lower or raise buttons.

Can it be done from the drivers seat if so how and also am I missing steps in the process. I have the manual but I haven’t got the foggiest.

I need to collect a bed and wardrobes no way am I letting a kuga upstage me. It’s not good for my ego or arguements I am going to have with her 😂😂😂

Seriously though can someone help me out. Power goes to the seat, is there any safety things preventing them moving, common problems or fuses?? Current Cars

Maybe a previous owner unplugged the buttons to stop an animal leaning on them and putting the seats down...???

Just a thought.... Thumbs Up Pete

Batteries ok. I do 50-100 miles a day.

Switch unplugged or fuses removed? I haven’t checked the fuses for one reason. In over 20 years of driving I have never had a fuse go. Obviously this is the start of the process normally but for a fuse to go I would expect to have another error associated. I will of course do the fuse check to do piece of mind. I don’t think it will be that. Current Cars

Sometimes my driver's seat doesn't go forward when the ignition is off, but if I lower the seats with the ignition on or engine running it all works properly. 2017 SDV8 Autobiography

Haylands. You sir are a genius on the making.

So thought I should go look at the fuses. Then thought I wonder if the switches popped out. Took the panel off and what do I see. Two green connectors not connected. Popped them in and boom boom jobs a goodun.

He knowledge in these forums always amazes me. Thank you all that commented. Thread closed 😂 Current Cars
