Fibre optic signal?

Hi all, got the dreaded flashing orange light & logo screen on dash - trying to find the faulty component in the rear stack, and it’s doing my head in! ( It’s not the Bluetooth module btw). Should the red signal from the fibre optic be steady, ie constant, or flashing/pulsing? That’s what mines doing... Any help appreciated!! Tried looping each component out, but nothing seems to change. Could it be something at the front end? 2006 4.2 s/c

On my 2006 the CD player is in the glovebox, you have to take the glovebox out to gain access to the fibre optic cable but it is worth checking that, otherwise take the top of the dash off and look at the IHU, there are plenty of videos on Youtube if you have not taken dash top off before
