3.6 TDV8 mk3 (2010) restricted performance. Advice Needed

Hi Everyone

I have a restricted performance issue with my 3.6tdv8 mk3 l322
With the esp off, abs off, emergency brake off etc… and really no
Power.
There is only One error code listed by the gap IIDtoll and coming from the ABS module
U0401-68 (AB) Invalid data received from engine control module / powertrain control module - Algorithm based failure - event information

Every time I was on restricted performance it was the same error code

As the latest issues came while Turning heated seat on, or raising the driver seat up, or braking on the motorway to switch the cruise control off, I decided to replace the 4 years old battery with a brand new one

Unfortunately, the issue with the same error code came back yesterday on the motorway after 6 kilometers at 130kmh while driving with the cruise control on
Then I erased the error code, drove back on the motorway with the cruise control on, and same issue came back after a few kilometers.
I stopped, erased the error code once more, and drove back home between 80kmh and 110kmh without turning the cruise control on. 25 kilometers without any issue

I’m planning to change the alternator as the original one is still in place (285.000kilometers)

Do you have any advice or idea what could be the cause of this issue ?

Many Thanks in advance for your help

Check voltage with engine running should be circa 14 volts this should indicate if alternator is issue ie not charging the battery. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

Actually based on the gap IIDtool it is around 14v
But sometimes with a brief voltage peak till 14.3 or 14.6
I’m guessing it could be the cause but I’m not sure
To be sure I don’t have a faulty alternator I’m gonna replace it, with 285.000 kilometers on the clock it did its time

Is there any idea for any other possible root cause ?

default setting in iid is to show only stored errors. You can select lot more. If you turn on to show pending errors, then you get lot of not active, but occured just once. It can show you additional symptoms.

Hello

So I followed your recommendation and checked the pending error

Actually I had this morning 3 times the restricted performance issue while driving some kilometers at 110kmh with the cruise control on

The pending error was always the same

PCM-Engine TDV8 3.6L
P2469-00 (27) Exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit high - bank 2, sensor 3

Does it mean there is an issue of sensor ? Or something else ?

Ok

I’m desperately trying to find the location of this sensor. Do you Know where it is on the exhaust Line?

Hi all

Some news from my side as
- a brand new alternator is in the car since today
- a brand new battery is also fitted

Unfortunately the car turned into limp mode after a few
kilometers on the motorway

hereunder the list of confirmed and pending faults
Can you help ? I’m starting to desperate…

Is it a faulty exhaust sensor or a problem with the ABS ?
Or something else ?

Alléluia

Problem fixed today
After the exchange of both sensors number 3 on the exhaust line
I was quite worried because the soot was at 32.6g
I thought that the DPF was blocked
But after 200km m, then suddenly the regeneration was done and the soot came back to zero
Within those last 200kilometers, not a single problem, not a single time the restricted performance

I’m really happy
