Anybody know Bell Autoservices?

I'm considering having my 2010 vogue chipped, and have been pointed at http://bellautoservices.co.uk/. Has anybody used them and they any good/ They quoted £419 for a remap which sounds rather steep to me.

TIA

Full agree, you won't find a better bloke that knows his stuff as good as Pete Thumbs Up

As for the cost at £419 it's cheap as chips but believe me you won't be disappointed at the end result. "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

It's a TDV8 3.6. The reason I thought 400 squid was a lot is the 300 which has been quoted on some posts for another company in the midlands. For a newbie like myself who has zero technical knowledge it is very tough to make an objective comparison of two service providers who seem to deal in 'smoke and mirrors'.

The only aspect of the car which I find annoying is that when driving off from standing it insists on reving to 3000 or so before changing from second to third, whereas all the other changes seem to be at about 2000 revs or so. To show my level of ignorance I'm not even sure if that is one of things which gets changed when it is chipped. I suspect a meeting with Pete is called for as he is only 5 miles away from me. 2010 TDV8 Zermat Silver with dirty streaks

3.6 responds well to a proper map inc the Torque delimiters , i have not used Bell AS but see lots of good reports. Price wise i have paid far more than that in the past but i always have live tailored maps on the cars. Gear change sounds a bit odd but i am sure BAS will be able to spot a problem if there is one. Far to many gone...

The newer cars are now what is known in the industry as a Tricore ECU. This means at present no-one can map the car through the OBD port. No tool can do it.

THe ECU will require removal for mapping and as such small marks can be identified by Land Rover. If you have a engine/drivetrain warranty issue expect it to be void.

But, Pete is one of the best in the industry on the LR range. And that's coming from another tuner (me). Used to have:
2005 FFRR 4.4 Vogue - BRC LPG Conversion & Remapped

Now have:
2008 SSRR 3.6 TDV8 - HSE and plenty of toys
