Windscreen wipers sit too high up the screen

Hi all

My windscreen wipers sit too high on the front screen, the drivers one about 1.5" above the black surround on the glass and very visible from inside the car. I can push them down to where they should sit but after use they return to the wrong resting position.

Can they be adjusted / removed and reset?. I recall this issue on my 03 and when i took the arm off there was a hex head nut which wouldn't allow the correct amount of adjustment so is there something that can be done with the linkage perhaps?.

take it off and replace further round on the spline...

Scarey, ive read up on this now and see where i was mistaken but i don't have a puller to be able to pull the splined bit off the stem, will i need one?.

depends how 'stuck' the wiper is....you might be lucky and it comes straight off but i'm sure with a bit of wiggling or/and a screwdriver under it, it will come loose..

If you can borrow a puller i'd recommend using one, takes moments and saves damaging anything Thumbs Up

What type of puller will I need? I have no idea where I'd get one from but think it will be useful to have one incase its needed

Ok, so I borrowed a puller in the end, got the socket etc that I needed and got ready to adjust the wiper arms and put new blades on.

I took the cap off the drivers side one and removed the nut. I noticed the spacer and washer were tight so pulled gently only to see the spacer fly off and into the bottom of the inner wheel arch so now I can't attach the arm correctly.

A trip to the dealers for me tomorrow, hope it doesn't rain
