Check for a split in that CV joint boot. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom |

Thanks. Will do. Seems quite a burst of oil, some still very slightly dripping from the plastic shroud.

It may not be the boot, but I had one split once on my old Vogue and it looked like Ron Jeremy had been spaffing black stuff in there for weeks!! The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom |

Sounds about right. I’m no mechanic - is it something like transmission fluid that is leaking from the split boot (if it is that). No idea of what the CV joint entails.

It's just grease, but friction temperature makes it like sticky WD40! The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom |

Turns out it’s a power steering fluid leak.

What’s the best website for exploded diagrams for L322’s?

The workshop manual in the WIKI has a clear diagram with all the components, section 211-02, steering system. It also has all the torque values etc.

Land Rover have their own Classic Parts website with diagrams, part numbers and prices which is fantastic.
