O-rings in coolant hoses

I've just fixed the 94th coolant leak on my 4.4 SDV8 (2014), all caused by o-rings in the coolant hoses going 'flat'.

See pic below. This one was cheap - the vent hose from radiator top to expansion bottoe.

Is it just me?

It seems that I will have to spend the rest of my ownership changing o-rings one by one if the last 2 years is anything to go by...

Chris.

So, my question is, how are you identifying the leaks? I'd love to be able to even identify 1.

These engine bays run so warm that it can often evaporate before you see it. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I found that the red coolant in my 3.6 leaves red traces when dried up. One of them endoscope camera things for your phone might help.

Easy - it has a very characteristic smell. I can smell it just walking past the front of the vehicle.

So I keep my eye on the coolant and when it starts to go down faster I have to start investigating properly to find the leak.

Always an o-ring.

Are you able to see the leaks, or do you use a pressure tester or UV dye or anything? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

It's bright pink anyway, so fairly easy to spot. The problem is usually the sheer amount of 'stuff' in the way, so an endoscope (USB camera), torch, and maybe removing some of the stuff is required just to confirm the leak is where you think it is.
