It might take a while if its not love at first sight. My experience with the Mrs was as follows:

She got out of a Scenic into the D2 back in about 2002, for a week she complained about the size of it, the turbo-lag, etc, then 2 weeks later when I offered to sell it and get her a new scenic, she said "you're not taking away my Land Rover!" Since then its been D3, RRS, and lovin it.

She does still want the porsche though. trying to sell me on her idea that she can P/E the RRS, then I can drive the porsche during the week and she can drive the FFRR. I told her to forget it. If she wants aporsche go get one but leave my RR alone! Ex: D3 TDV6 SE

Mine was apprehensive, after a mini, and then a SLK. She never got on with the old Passat we used to have, hated parking it etc.

Baptism of fire with the FFRR, took her out down some very single track lanes, ones where she had to learn how to retract the mirrors! She loves it - one of the thinks she loved about her mini was it had a real character - how you had to tease the brake with your left foot to kill the understeer and get it round a tight bend. She says that the RR also has a simular feeling to the drive - bit of character.

One thing we did notice is that we are now treated like Fred and Rosemary West by 90% of other road users - and I thought driving a BMW was bad!

She found parking is surprisingly easy for a big car - the mirrors are big and you can see all the corners.

its her first day taking 'the truck' to work today so i guess i'll get the full low down tonight, but from what she has already said i think i will have trouble prising the keys back out of her hand. __________________
