Hi all have any of you had any experience of this

been speaking to a RR main dealer mechanic who said that I shouldnt get a 4.4 v8 converted to LPG as they can overheat. Fitters of LPg say no but thought they may do anyway, only thing I can get near to with this is I know someone who has had 3 LPG rrs now and had to have a new radiator in one of them

any thoughts I have searched the forum for this but couldnt find anything

Having to have a new Radiator would not be because of an LPG install.

LPG WILL NOT cause the engine to overheat. The LR garage is talking rubbish. LPG does burn a few degrees hotter, as such it used to be recommended that you run slightly higher temperature spark plugs - with modern plugs this is no longer needed.

There's a reason you haven't found any problems regarding this - it doesn't happen.

I've had 2 LPG'd 4.4's both ran absolutely fine on LPG with no discernible difference between running on petrol & LPG. I've also had LPG Discovery's with no OH issues. 

You'll need a new radiator because they don't last more than five or six years before the joints corrode. It has nothing to do with LPG.

I've been running my V8 on LPG since day one (when it had 29000 miles). It now has 71000 and has been faultless.*

The M62 4.4 V8 is one of the best engines to convert to LPG as they come as standard with hardened valve seats so valve recession due to higher combustion temperatures is not a factor.

Same here. LPG for over 12months and no LPG related issues. Only the usual 4.4 coolant problems. 04, 4.4V8, Vogue Oslo Blue with LPG.

If something can't be fixed with a hammer....... You have yourself an electrical fault!

I would say the engine overall would run a little bit cooler and not hotter as the vapouriser/s take quite a lot of heat out of the system, this is why most won't kick in until a few minutes after startup or it can cause the coolant to freeze if the outside temp is too cold, one reason its not often used in artic circle and such places

yes it does burn a bit hotter and you can still get hotter running plugs for your engines, iridium tipped ones are usually better, but its not often needed unless you tow with the car big wieghts so there is more stress on the engine...

my bmw m62 4.4 v8 has been runnning on lpg since 2008 faultless, best piece of equipment i have ever bought for a car.
