"Reduced Engine Performance" message on a SC RR is 99% caused by this.

A large proportion of 2005-2007 SC RR's had the electric coolant pump wired the wrong way round, being a centrifugal pump it doesn't do it any favours running back-wards so leads to early failure.

You can test your aux coolant pump by activating the "Rest Heating" function - Outside temp less than 15C, after turning off and taking key out of ign press "max ac", make sure after a few minutes the air coming out the vents is hot. If it's cool/cold then the pump doesn't work/is wired incorrectly.

The fix is to correct the wiring (if your car is affected) and replace the pump if wired back-wards (even if it still works, it wont last much longer)

a friend of mine in Marseille with an SC got the same problem . they changed ther pump , and the message came back again after few days v.


In his case there was also sometthing wrong with a fuse which iwas sitauted in the Fuse Box in the TRUNK , yes on the SC they haver added fuses and some are in a fuse box in the trunk §§§§

took the staeler 3 returns of the car before they finally found .

so when you get your SC back , you may want to check in this fuse box in the trunk ....

Just checked the info in the WSM as well as on Microcat. Hopefully mechanic can get the part in time for todays delivery. What a PITA.

For reference the part number for the Supercharger Aux Coolant Pump is PEB500010

I'll check the fuse myself tonight. £120 sounds about right.

£30 for labour. 

Probably abit late as it took me a while to find em but I've scanned the info i got from topix when i was doing mine. Couldn't download the pdf's so had to print em hence the poor quality scans. Maybe this can help other SC owners in the future

also the connector only fits the pump one way as a little plastic stopper stops it from being turned 180. I didnt fancy taking the wires out and swapping them so i shaved the little plastic stopper and spun the connector 180 and it fitted perfectly into the new pump

It's definately the pump that's broken - even with 12v applied to it, it doesnt move.

As I advised my mechanic of the wrong part # I will have to wait till tomorrow for my car to be back :'(

Part cost about £120 inc VAT and my local indy charged £30 to swap over. He really is a top guy and knows his stuff.

I you are in the Wiltshire area and need any mechanical work doing he's your man.
