Oh Scotland, so close, but you rested on your laurels and stopped concentrating for a moment. A great individual try by the Argies though. A great contest by two very evenly matched sides. Not sure Scotland can beat England though .....

I'm sure they can! Thumbs Up Got - 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black

It was close! As usual England really need to get their act together...going to depend on "which" France shows up next Saturday

ENGLAND 16 - 12 SCOTLAND

Ireland looking good

Wales doing well

WALES 66 - FIJI 0

Got to tip Ireland at this stage on Saturday, but these two teams are very closely matched

IRELAND 10 - 22 WALES

Great defence and opportunist tries from Wales and Ireland just ran out of steam after being on the attack for much of the game. Now just about to settle down to England - France......

ENGLAND 12 - 19 FRANCE

Well, France brought a good team today and wiped the floor with England, who played with the same lack of flourish and invention we have seen in the rest of the tournament.

I reckon Wales could beat France based on today's efforts but we'll have to see.

If the form book carries on like this we'll be seeing Australia and Argentina winning on Sunday !

I know this will sound like Scots bias against England, but as a lover of running and flowing rugby, I was really glad that Englands attempts to win games by continually feeding Jonny Wilkinson drop goal attempts has finally caught up with them and they got what they didn't really deserve against other teams in this and previous world cups.

FRANCE 9 - 8 WALES

With the controversial sending off of Sam Warburton for a spear tackle in the first half the game plan for both sides seemed to change completely and it became a war of attrition and missed drop goal attempts. Wales did get across the try line with a darting run from Mike Phillips but this was not enough, and they squandered their opportunity to take the lead three times in the last 5/6 minutes.

France looked the better team for most of the game, but Wales battled hard to find a win with only 14 men.

Consolation for England that they were beaten by the team that goes onto the final.

AUSTRALIA 6 - 20 NEW ZEALAND

Tough old match, the All Blacks played some true Northern hemisphere rugby to win this, with the Aussies really coming back at them in the second half, with no reward.

So all set for next weekend, Wales to have a go at the Aussies, before we see if the French can get revenge against the All Blacks for the defeat in the round robin...

WALES 18 - 21 AUSTRALIA

The Aussies raised their game, and there just wasn't enough left in the tank for the Welsh to bring home 3rd place.

FINAL!

FRANCE 7 - 8 NEW ZEALAND

By the skin of their teeth, the All Blacks won the World Cup on home soil. I tried to approach this game impartially, but as it went on I found myself rooting for the French. Outstanding players for me were Rougere and Trin-Duc. Even with Weepu being off colour and the All Blacks going to their 4th string fly half, they had enough team grit and determination to hang on to their one point lead and win out the match.

New Zealand 2006 Range Rover Supercharged Vogue SE Auto Java Black

That was certainly a much closer game than expected. Hats off to the French, I think they actually played better and adapted their tactics to neutralise the All Blacks game, which to be fair was suffering from 3rd and 4th choice fly half combinations that simply weren't seasoned and fluent. But the winner is the team with the most points, which was a massive relief to All Black fans and the entire country Shocked

Nice to get that 24 year itch put to rest Very Happy 2006 Supercharged
