2011 Rugby World Cup Thread

Much as I would like England to win, here are my predictions for the coming Rugby World Cup:

1. South Africa
2. New Zealand
3. France
4. Australia
5. England

Can't see it happening this time for England or any other Home nation for that matter, but France are just quirky enough to pull out a 3rd place.

Poll is only open until the competition starts!

My heart says AUSTRALIA, but my head says New Zealand.......I think the only way to stop the All Blacks is to poison their water!!

I hope our boks are off to bring the trophy back where it belongs Smile

Although, to be honest, their performances in the Tri-nations havent been that inspiring, apart from yesterday. maybe they haven't "peaked" yet Laughing Ex: D3 TDV6 SE

New Zealand 2006 Range Rover Supercharged Vogue SE Auto Java Black

My heart desperately wants the All Blacks to win, we'll disown them if they don't! Genuinely fear the Aussies, playing in NZ is very natural for them, their coach Robbie Deans (ex Cantubury Crusdaers head coach) has them motivated beyond belief and they've got a very good record of hitting top form at the World Cup - in like the AB's who always peak too soon Confused

Can't sneak off to the pub to see the game this morning, new boss in town.... 2006 Supercharged

10th September ENGLAND 13 - 9 ARGENTINA

Only just! Phew! - what happened to Jonny?

Seems like the minnows all came to the party: Japan, Romania, the Argies. As the commentator said this morning, "it's England in a World Cup, what else should we expect!

11th September 2011

WALES 16 - 17 SOUTH AFRICA

Another close one. Wales didn't really deserve that, but my pick for the Cup proved their worth and pulled out the win when it mattered

18th September 2011

IRELAND 15 - 6 AUSTRALIA

What a game, and well played the Irish, they look really good, and could go a long way if they keep it up.

England 2002 Range Rover Td6 HSE Auto Alveston Red

19th September 2011

ENGLAND 41 - 10 GEORGIA

Another lack lustre performance, littered with penalties from the English, but again they ground out a win. Georgia deserved better, and the scoreline doesn't do justice to their performance. Still looking good for my 5th place Wink

England 2002 Range Rover Td6 HSE Auto Alveston Red

Sept 24th

ENGLAND 67 - 3 ROMANIA

That was a bit better, now come on Scotland!

ALL BLACKS 37 - 17 FRANCE

I was looking forward to this match, so got quite excited in the first ten minutes when France took it to the All Blacks, but then suddenly three tries from NZL and the game was more or less won.

25th Sept

ARGENTINA 13 - 12 SCOTLAND

Oh Scotland, so close, but you rested on your laurels and stopped concentrating for a moment. A great individual try by the Argies though. A great contest by two very evenly matched sides. Not sure Scotland can beat England though .....
