when i turn the ignition on i hear three beeps but no message on the dash, i have a54 plate TD6 vogue. any of you guys know what this means?

Sounds like you have a tracker fitted, search the forum, lots on this.

from memory i think its a tracker device bleeping, might be wrong though...

had the car nearly 2 years can't remember doing it before,and i know its not the clock as it didn't happen on the hour.

have you come across a small credit card size fob...while cleaning the car.. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Have a look in the boot and get someone else to turn the ignition on to help identify if the sound is coming from the boot or the dash.

If it's coming from the boot then its more than likely a tracker of some sort. I had one in mine when I bought it which beeped when approaching speed cameras.

I took a close look around the equipment in the boot to see if anything looked aftermarket, and first noticed a small speaker on right hand side and GPS / GSM antenna on the left. The wires disappeared behind the boot panels, so I removed the side panels and found a Smart Nav telematics device for fleet management with optional speed camera warning system.

The camera database is updated over the air which was great, but the down side was the charge for doing so - £265 / year . So I ripped** it out.

My tracker emits three beeps from what sounds like the rear left compartment. Interestingly it's three beeps when you have the tag on you, and five beeps when the tag is missing. So if it's the same system then the tag might be inside the car somewhere if you're not aware of having been given something. The tag is not credit card sized in my case; it's smaller and thicker (maybe 3-4mm thick) and is in a black plastic case.

So is it a beep or a bell (a spritely and very annoying "doioing") ?
