My guess is you have never had your children complain that the sun is in the eyes or making them squint. Or perhaps you do not have children so would not appreciate the problem - we spend a lot more time in the car these days compared to when you and I were children.

PS: I get the fact you do not like them and that's your opinion and I respect that.
