Is anyone aware of a freeview TV upgrade for FFRRs? I currently have a 56 plate Vogue SE with the touch screen TV/DVD etc, but by the end of the year the analogue TV will be non-functional in my area. I queried it at my local dealer last year and they were not aware of anything. I would have thought LandRover would have brought out an upgrade module of some sort by now. I would look for an aftermarked add-on, but that would most likely have an extra control unit, whereas I would expect LR to update the touchscreen software as part of the upgrade.
I don't watch the telly much but when I eventually sell the RR on, it would be nice to say the TV worked!

Guessing yours is based on the BMW system I'd say there is a solution Try NavTV or Prestige Audio in NW10

I'm in the same boat, surely its just a new tuner required? The newer one used in the D3, RRS and FFRR should just fit, trouble is, finding one cheap enough! Discovery 4 HSE

I asked my local stealer about upgrading and was told it was not possible. But not given a reason, so suggest the cable issue, as mentioned, could be the reason.

There's bound to be an aftermarket add-on box that can receive Freeview.

I once saw this ontop of a Range Rover in New York. This would be cool.

As per RRUK, I was thinking a tuner upgrade, but if that's not viable, then I was thinking that at the very worst I would be able to get a unit that sat between the existing aerial and head unit which received freeview, converted it to a UHF frequency (much like a video recorder or after market set top box) and I would tune the TV into this, the freeview channels being searched (unfortunately) via a seperate up/down scanner etc etc Steve

Yep Mick, that's the box. I was thinking of using the AV inputs on the rear of the front centre armrest, but if I remember, it ony feeds the 2 rear screens, but 2 out of 3 is better than 0 !!  Steve

It is possible to do this in advance of the digital switchover. For you to retain all of the normal controls, you would require an interface connector which will provide an audio video input which will then allow you to have a digital freeview TV tuner to be integrated into your existing system.

This interface will also provide you with video in motion so that you can watch this on the move.

Installation for the tuner and interface will take around 4 hours @ £30 - £40 per hr plus VAT.

On order of the products, these will be delivered to you within 24 - 48 hours and you will be put in touch with a local installation engineer to organise an appropriate installation time and date.
