JE Engineering big-valve polished and ported heads

Anybody on here fitted the above on a Jag 4.4 V8? Would love to go down the aftermarket S/C route like Robbo770, but my wallet and heart couldn't take the risk....

I also notice that their website gives conflicting info with their .pdf download claiming up to 60BHP increase yet the main RR petrol engine page states yield of 300-320BHP after the swap. Given the standard Jag lump output is quoted at 305BHP, i'm confuddled....

I know JE have a cracking reputation for quality work and good service, but this would be a pretty expensive mod for only 10-15BHP, which would go pretty much unnoticed...

Not sure why you would modify your car when you could just sell and get an S/C if you want more power? S/C's seem to be very good value at the moment! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Yeah, they're great value at the moment! Doesn't do much for the price I'd be able to get for mine though Sad

I had considered it, but the head swap would cost me significantly less than the extra cash I'd need to stick in to upgrade to a similar condition/age/mileage S/C (and don't really care about/need the cooled seats or RSE). I also have a full history of the car I own (I know the previous owner), so know its been looked after and had no major problems / issues which may not be the case with a new one...

I reckoned I'd need to stick in an extra £6k cash minimum to upgrade to a similar S/C (extra 100BHP), but if i could get an extra 50-60BHP from the JE head, ECU reprogramme and high flow CAT exhaust system for approx. half that, it would be a good compromise....

Ally, what mileage do you have on your 2007 V8 Vogue? (And what plate is it?)

See! Gaz will get you into an S/C! Only thing is whether you prefer the interior facelift and terrain response, or an extra 100 bhp, plus all the other S/C benefits! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Gaz, it's a facelift 07 plate, 56k.

Already looked at your site, but you haven't got any MY07 S/C in and I bozmandb9 I do like the interior changes, electronic brake and terrain response!

The Vogue V8 was only available to 2007(07) and therefore ( I think) it it did not get the interior facelift that is associated with the terrain response (TDV8).

So the gain is 100BHP, RSE, Perforated Leather, 20" S/C wheels/Grille/Vents and a big grin Thumbs Up

My mistake I did not realise the V8 got the interior facelift and terrain response as it was dropped in 2007(07) Surprised

Gaz,

Cheers for the PM, it just confirmed my calcs above though!

Also, mine's already on 20's and has S/C grill and vents so the only addition would be the power, cooled seats and RSE. That's not a lot for the extra £6k+!!!

Ally,

Are you saying your 2007 V8 has got the TDV8 updated interior with new seats/dashboard & Terrain Response?

Not sure if your statement above was saying you have them so do not want to lose them or you just want them next Confused Question

Yes, its a MY07 facelift with terrain response, EPB etc. It was a special order for the previous owner after the petrol 4.4 was removed from dealers lists. There aren't many about that's for sure!

Does that mean you'd swap it for a 56 plate supercharged Wink
