Parallel conversations in different threads Laughing
Just for the sake of clarity then from the RAC group buy thread:

SteveMFr wrote:
Really? Then the description is rather poorly worded on the Bearmach web shop (mailorder4x4):

BA 5075 Hawkeye Diagnostics Additional Vehicle Unlock Code.
The unit is supplied with one vehicle unlock code, additional unlock codes can be purchased to allow the unit to be used on multiple vehicles.

Price: £145.00 (Excluding VAT at 20%)

Is it possible that this was changed for later versions of he Hawkeye?

Its bad wording they mean additional unlock codes can be bought for additional models .

but....

The description in post No1 clearly states:

When you purchase the HawkEye diagnostic tool you are automatically entitled to your FREE unlock code which will enable you to use the product on one Land Rover model of your choice. Once purchased, the firmware of the unit is fully upgradeable as new applications are released. You can also include more than one Land Rover model on your Hawkeye diagnostic tool by purchasing further unlock codes.

I'll have to read as closely as you next time Gary. Laughing

As a potential customer I'd still be unsure... Vehicle type or model. One vehicle, tho, is exactly that. Misleading. And the site I copied that from is the Bearmach direct distributor.

We've not sold any yet, but there will be a VIN lock free single model (l322 or RRS, etc) available - though it will be somewhat more expensive than the Hawkeye. It will also do more as of the Fall SW update. There will also be a VIN lock free all-model type IIDTool for professional use. All in all, when you've purchased all the cables and necessary bits for the Hawkeye multiple model unit - we'll be in about the same price category.

I hope I didn't sound that defensive Laughing

It's your thread, Gary. I was actually just trying to contribute constructively. We spent a bit of time dwelling on pricing/features of all the various diagnostic tools not too long ago. I don't consider the Hawkeye to be a great value. It's not expensive but it doesn't do terribly much. I actually consider the Faultmate MSV to be a better value. It's 4 times as expensive and does 10 times as much (for one user).

If you have a specific need that the Hawkeye fulfills, tho, then it's obviously a better value.

If you look closely at the Hawkeye's application list (available vehicle systems), it really does not seem like such a good deal anymore (IMO - but I am biased Razz ).

It is only 1 VIN at the GBP250 price - addtl VIN's cost GBP145.

Shameless self-plug: the IIDTool should have CCF editing options available as of the fall SW update (we hope... Whistle ) Laughing

OK Steve I meant your "Other" thread!

I have a Garmin Nuvi with bluetooth connection to the cars Diagnostics which can read and clear just about any code that is OBD2 as well as display about 20 different live engine readouts from MAF to Battery...and that was only £150 with a Sat NAv & Bluetooth phone thrown in Whistle

hawkeye diagnostic tool

On this page http://www.paddockspares.com/hawkeye-diagnostic-tool.html there is a link to: Land Rover Air Suspension cable NOW £45.00 (exc.VAT)

Does this mean that the Hawkeye can be used to reset the air suspension with this cable?
