My SC suffered from a squeak on startup, which was rectified under warranty by replacing the main drive belt pulley.

Accoding to my dealer, its a know issue on the SC, but I've no idea if its a problem on other engines.

Are you sure its the belt and not the tensioner?

Hi I've got a supercharged if that helps. My cars a 2006 so it'll be out of warranty.

Anyone know what costs are involved? And what will been replaced?

Am I right and thinking the jag units have tensioners an the noise could be the 2 belts for alternator etc

FYI my SC is also a 2006, the warranty is the approved used warrenty that comes with a main dealer supplied car.

The job took 1.8 hours and required the following parts

PQR500350 -pulley
JYP000040 - screw
PQM500030 - bolt
PQR500320 - Belt

It's one of the few warranty jobs that I have the paperwork for.

Any idea the cost of the parts?

Its a common issue but the squeak normally disappears after warm up. Not sure if leaving it will lead to mechanical failure?

The paperwork shows less than £50 all in for the parts, but that may be discounted as the LR warranty picked up the bill.

Had exactly the same problem on my 2006 SC, although in my case they diagnosed a faulty belt which was replaced (not under the LR warranty sadly)... I thought it would be the pulley and was sceptical a new belt would fix it, but the noise has certainly gone - along with a clutch of notes from my wallet Laughing Range Rover TDV8 Vogue SE
