Is there a steering damper fitted to the early TDV8?

Reason I ask is because I have 22" wheels fitted to my 07 MY, I get a shimmy at around 55mph and when going slow and turning into corners I can feel the wheels through the steering, as if the unsprung weight has been affected.

The wheels are Overfinch style rather then genuine so I'm assuming they weigh more than the suspension has been designed for hence the question about the damper.

I've read articles about this retrofit and wonder if it will help my TDV8 feel better? BTW the tyres are a budget brand rather than Pirelli, Conti etc, I know this will add to the problems. The wheel & tyre package is new so should be fine in that respect.

Carlos I had this problem when I fitted a set of 20's to my Disco3 no amount of banlacing would sort it. The fix was to fit spigot rings which fixed the issue. Its worth checking to ensure there is no play on the wheel when fitted to the hub before you tighten wheelnuts. Hope this might help. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE
