Just had a couple of quotes to supply and fit either Deployable's or Fixed with front and rear Mud flaps

Deployable's £2316 incl vat

Fixed with front and rear Mud flaps £1268 incl vat ..

Don't really have an option of not getting them as the other half is too small too get in and out of the car plus into the bargain she will end up pulling off the grab handle above the door ...

The fixed ones i had on the Old SC were handy , my only concern for the Deployable's are would they be reliable at working all the time , you know how some LR products can be.

Anyone here got the deployable one's …

PS , Thanks dan for the quote for just the steps but i can't be arsed fitting them as my DIY car skills are pish to say the least

we sell alot of the deployable sidesteps, not had many problems with them at all if any.

I have a friend with the deployable steps. As a man, with normal length legs he says they are a PITA as he has to step out past the steps or get dirty trousers, it's purely for women, or male midgets.

He said that his main frustration with them is that you come to a stop, open the door, the step deploys, you shut the door and they go back in, but then you want to get your jacket out from the back door and they come out again! There's no delay to just hold them in place for a while.

I personally would not want those ones, if I went for steps at all, it would be the fixed ones. The quote sounds astranomical though, considering you can buy OE lookalike steps on ebay for less than £300 and they are quite easy to fit, have you thought about taking them to a local garage?

Mick, have you see the deployables in action? They are slow and I would expect them to be stubborn if iced up and expensive to fix it they were to get knocked.

I have a similar problem - wife is 5'0" and likes side steps. I'm 6'0" and loathe them both for looks and the dirty mark on the back of the trousers.

I've been tempted to get the deployable steps but only activate them on the passenger side...

Do the deplyable steps operate when everytime the door is open? I was under the impression they activated when the car was in access mode.

My wife is only 5', she manages fine, but then she always wears trousers or jeans. My aunt is 91 and only about 4'10", she manages to get in if I use access mode. Granted she is quite sprightly for her age and just needs somebody to hold her hand while she hoists herself in

Personally I think the FF looks much nicer without any steps. Td6 SE
