Right, ive had the wheel off and the only fault i can find is with the assembly that allows you to turn the steering and keep electrical contact, Part no (xzr000020) iv priced one up and they are £205 + the dreaded, whats the thoughts on swopping the wires from the heated steering for the wires on the voice control thinggy as I never use the voice button ??? any input would be gratefully received,

I would try and get the part replaced rather than use the wires from the Voice button. It may be a PITA, but just think of it as another one-off cost.

The heated steering wheel takes alot more power than the "voice button" so the power rating for the wires are lower and you will probably burn out the steering wheel slip ring...

Thanks guys, all taken on board, think i'll wait a bit as ive just spent £1200 on having the rear bushes replaced, ( Oh got a pair of rear drive shafts with dammaged ends if any one needs some ) and £744 on 4 new tyres so the wife's not happy about spending any more at the mo, Christmas is coming and she's a spending like no tomorrow , I'll have another look at the slip ring when ive got a couple of hours to remove it and pull it apart, |
