Central Locking Dash Button

Hi all
Just joined having bought my first RR which is a late 2002 and looking for some advice please. Central locking all seems fine except that the button on the dash doesn't work. Is it likely to be the switch itself or is this a common fault and its something else?

dont think a lot of peeps use that button, but it does sound like the switch...
