Water Shedder Fitment

Hi all,

I've just spent half an hour or so trying to fit the water shedder around the nav kit in the boot.

I have the shedder from Land Rover, and have even had the fitting instructions from the Service Manager.

How does the piggin thing go on ?

The pictures in the instructions don't match the water shedder I've got. they must have updated it.

I've given up now. Bit sad seems I'd took the nav bracket off and was all set.

I just can't see how it goes, or where you stick the edge......

(Though I've a good idea where it ought to be stuck !!)

Does anyone have a picture of it in situ ?

Thanks

I have got a picture somewhere, possibly at work.

However, it isn't that hard.

Somewhere near the bead of black sealant are two pre-punched holes.

These holes go over the two (screws/studs can't remember) at the top of the first bracket you need to remove.

Once you have those in place, the rest follows.

Seek out the two holes.

You wouldn't think it'd be that hard would you.

There are no holes, pre made, or even marks for.

I don't know which is the front...........I'm assuming the longer bit of plastic goes down the back.....

......that means the sticky black bead thing has nowhere to stick.

If it goes the other way round, it sticks to the carpet behind the units.

To quote my Dad "I can't believe this !!" LOL

This seems to be the newer "pre formed" water shedder like, as one member said "your Mother would put over the arm of a chair".

No idea...........

Lets hope I don't have a water leak !!

Cheers

Post a picture up, and what is your part number.

Can't understand why there are no holes.

I think there are "Water Shedders" inside the doors as well.

Just wondering if you have got the right thing.

Hi mate,

It's definately the correct part. Though its been updated since the TSB was released.........

Not managed to work out how to post images on here, I press the "Img" button and it puts some text in - do you put the file path next ?

The part is shown on daveo's pictures here ;

Found the picture.

You can just see the two punched holes near the line of black sealant, where the studs come through.

Many thanks.

I have now successfully fitted the water shedder. Thank God I hear you cry !!

The bit I thought was the front, was actually the top - don't ask.

Probably why I couldn't understand any of it..........

The only thing now is, I have a sneaky suspicion it would be better behind the carpet, not infront, then you wouldn't see it.

Job for another decade me thinks !!

All the best
