Bi-Xenon shutter flicker and levelling questions

Hi, My car had Xenon without the servo motors inside. I am changing to LHD units as I am importing the car to Spain and just the lever method is not accepted. So, I got a unit from the breakers..with the motor inside. When turned on, it doesnt do a self check which I thought it would as I assumed its self leveling. It seemed to be very low and I have to get the adjusters on almost max to get the height correct. Also when I turn on high beams, the shutter works and reveals the full beam from the xenon bulb, BUT,,,,, when the engine is running, the shutter starts to flicker and drop lower in the beam pattern. If the engine isnt running, it doesnt flicker.
I only have one fitted at the moment and have the original unit on the other side connected which works albeit it doesnt have the motor inside it.
Is this a fault or a consequence of not having both fitted the same?
Should these do the self check movement when turning on as my old BMW xenons used to do?
I will post a link to a video if possible...
Any help much appreciated.

Have you tried getting it passed by just using the lever?

Worked for me in Portugal and they are very particular about the matriculation here

I got the adjustments sorted as one connector of the adjusters had popped out of the socket. I changed over the ignitor and Xenon power pack and the issue continued. I am waiting for the second unit to plug in and try so it has both the same type fitted (i.e with the motors) to see if its not liking just one.

Not sure if it’s too late now, but I had an “engineer” open the units up and convert them to LHD spec. Saved ££’s on new or used headlights. Not sure how you’d find a local person able to do it. But it’s certainly doable! 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

Just take off the stickers on the casing, drop the lever, the machine that checks the beam pattern will pass the flattened beam pattern Whistle

“Flattening” the beam didn’t work for my ITV, the beam has to be “thrown” properly.

Wow...I’ve just realised how boring I’ve become. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

So today i replaced the units with standar LHD Bi-Xenon, no self levelling or directional, just as the original one were. Both of these are doing the shutter flicker and it only does it with the engine running. What can this be?

I asked to day and it was a flat no! They have to be illuminating the verge too.

You don't ask, you say yes they have been changed to lhd and try the test, it would have passed

Well it did for me in Portugal, all cars with led headlights pass too.

Good luck
